FABRE Consortium

FABRE promotes and coordinates the participation of associated Universities and Research Institutions in scientific activities in the fields of Civil Engineering and Architecture, with particular reference to the evaluation of bridges, viaducts and other structures.

FABRE’s attention is directed to the assessment of static, foundational, seismic and hydrogeological risks, to verification, control and monitoring, as well as to the development of innovative techniques for the restoration, improvement and adaptation of bridges, viaducts and other existing structures.

FABRE’s activities are aimed at promoting:

Collaborations

Collaborations between universities, research institutions and university education institutes, public and private institutions: a reference of high scientific qualification, and formation of a network between research laboratories active in the departments of universities and consortium institutions, as well as in public institutions and private research.

Scientific comparison

Initiatives aimed at scientific discussion on topics of interest to the Consortium, between universities and consortium entities, the development of scientific and technological research and the transfer of results to public and private entities and to professional communities through training and updating activities.

Research groups

Participation of universities and consortium organizations in national and international research groups and centers of expertise, also coordinating research of particular complexity or of national and supranational interest.

Research activities

Collaboration with national and international public and private bodies and entities for the joint development of research activities, also taking part in the study, implementation and management of scientific initiatives in the context of national and international cooperation projects and agreements

Equipment and laboratories

Agreements with universities and research institutions, public and private, for the use of equipment and laboratories for research activities and for the establishment of research units and advanced research structures and laboratories

Instrumentation and methodologies

Collaborations with public and private, local, national and international bodies, and with the industries of the sector, for the creation of technologically advanced instruments and innovative modeling methodologies

Scientific dissemination

Scientific dissemination initiatives and start-up of actions for the transfer of national and international research results to the applied and industrial environment and promotes, also through the granting of study and research grants, the preparation of experts, both in basic research and in technological developments and applications

Studies and research

Studies and research commissioned and/or commissioned by public administrations and entities, public and private, local, national and international, and support for problem solving and participation in tenders and bankruptcy procedures

Conferences

Organization, preferably every two years, of a conference with international participation, on scientific topics of interest

FABRE Consortium, as a non-profit (direct or indirect) organisation, is open to collaboration with Universities and Research Institutions that operate in the field of the topics of interest and sets up technical tables open to institutions and all stakeholders.
