Filippo Ubertini, Professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Perugia, spoke on behalf of the FABRE Consortium at the Genoa Smart Week within the Conference Monitoring and control of the urban and peri-urban environment and of mobility infrastructures, with a report on the static and dynamic satellite monitoring of bridges and viaducts.
The ongoing climate changes and their effects have highlighted even more the fundamental importance of day-by-day monitoring of infrastructures. Remote monitoring technologies, and among these satellite ones, today allow more and more real-time control, providing useful information to prevent harmful or catastrophic events.
