ENEA President Francesca Mariotti spoke at the opening of the 3rd FABRE Conference “Existing Bridges, Viaducts, and Tunnels: Research, Innovation, and Applications,” held on January 16 at the Auditorium della Tecnica in Rome.
In her speech, President Mariotti stated, “The Fabre Consortium’s scientific and technical alliance, in which ENEA participates, carries out a fundamental mission for our country: to evaluate, monitor, and improve Italy’s road and railway infrastructure, making it safer, more resilient, and better equipped for future challenges.
The focus is on infrastructure we define as critical because it provides “essential” services and is closely interconnected and interdependent. In this process, ENEA contributes its scientific and technical expertise gained through years of research and fieldwork, integrating knowledge ranging from structural engineering to seismic safety, from territorial analysis to risk assessment.
It is through this collaboration that we can build a modern, safe, and effective infrastructure portfolio for the country.“
