Training plays a strategic role within the FABRE Consortium’s program of initiatives, which generally address research and safety issues for bridges and viaducts.
Among the training activities promoted and organized by the FABRE Consortium, the Level II Master’s Degree in the Evaluation and Management of the Safety of Existing Infrastructure Works stands out. This Master’s Degree is organized by the FABRE Consortium in collaboration with the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli.”
The Master’s Degree aims to train highly specialized professionals in the evaluation and
management of the safety of existing infrastructure works: bridges, viaducts, and tunnels, also considering the environment in which these works are located and the assets related to them. The trained professional is able to design the knowledge path essential for conducting accurate assessments, taking into account the various interacting risk factors; analyze and model the works with reference to structural aspects and potential interference caused by hydraulic, geotechnical, and landslide phenomena; Identify the actions to be implemented and plan intervention policies based on the outcomes and the technical-economic assessment of alternatives, taking into account the effects on the network.
The first edition of the Master’s program was held in 2024 – academic year 2023/2024. This first edition was followed by the 2025 edition – academic year 2024/2025. The FABRE Consortium website currently provides documentation for the third edition of the 2026 Level II Master’s program – academic year 2025/2026.
