The FABRE Study Days on Bridges and Viaducts in Local Authorities: Risk Classification, Exceptional Transport, and Critical Infrastructure were held in Ferrara on September 27 and 28, 2025. They were followed by the traditional Meeting of the FABRE Consortium’s Scientific Directors.
The event brought together managers, institutions, universities, businesses, and professionals, providing an important opportunity for discussion on the latest application experiences and future prospects for infrastructure management. The work was divided into thematic sessions and round tables that addressed key issues for Italy’s infrastructure assets, including:
- Risk classification of bridges and viaducts managed by local authorities;
- Management and maintenance of local railway networks;
- Issues related to exceptional transport and military vehicles;
- Strategies for improving the efficiency and resilience of critical infrastructure.
The second day also saw the presentation of new FABRE Working Groups on industry and digitalization, involving universities and companies in the sector.
The FABRE Scientific Managers’ Meeting was held on September 19th, an opportunity to review ongoing activities: relationships with managers and local authorities, research projects, administrative and institutional aspects, advanced training (including the FABRE Master’s Program), and planning for upcoming events, including the next FABRE 2026 Conference, to be held in Rome from February 16th to 19th, 2026.
